Say goodbye to stick shift vehicles!

It Is about damn time they start getting rid of that damn, useless stick shift bulls**t! It's old, outdated technology! Nobody even cares about them anymore!
I have always hated those worthless, stupid things!
They don't get better gas mileage than automatics. They used to, but, not anymore! Automatics are getting much better mileage than manuals now!
You don't have more control over a manual than automatics! That's a big myth! I have less control over a stick than an auto.
There's too many things to concentrate on when driving the stupid things. You must concentrate on your speed, timing, hitting the clutch and shifting and getting the timing on that right.
There's no valid excuse to continue making them anymore!
Soon, they will be much more expensive.
You already have to special order them from the manufacturer now anyway. That makes them more expensive and not worth it.
I personally hate them. They are too hard to drive! Waste of time. They ALWAYS cause me too many problems! The transmission and clutch have broken too many times on me!
Millenials can't drive them. That makes them obsolete and pointless.
Just keep things simple: You hit the gas and the vehicle goes! Shifting is an unnecessary waste of time!
Several Trucking companies already have 100% or at least 99% automatic transmission vehicles.
The US ARMY now has only,100% automatic vehicles. Except some vehicles, like old Jeeps left over from Vietnam. They rarely ever use them! The US military does not teach people how to drive stick shifts anymore, that's a total waste of time!
I don't know why anyone even wants to drive the stupid things anymore! There's no point in driving them anymore!
The automatic transmission was invented in the 1930s. My grandparents were around then. They were just little kids at that time.
Now, for the jackasses who still insist on getting those stupid things, you can spend extra money on an Automated transmission. They have the best features of both automatic and stick. There is no clutch. You just hit the gear shifter on the steering wheel. It's still a pointless, waste of time and it's more expensive. But, it's easier to drive than a stick shift. Even these will soon disappear! They will quit making them soon after they quit making manuals!
For people who are Autistic, they are very hard to drive! They require too much multitasking! Autistics usually are not good at multitasking. They are dangerous for those people to drive!
There's only Two places where stick shifts belong: In the junkyard and in the ancient history museum, setting right next to the horse and buggy!

Why do we say "Break a leg" to wish someone "Good Luck"?

When people tell someone: "Good luck", that person will often have bad luck.
People would get on stage and they would either mess up their performance or fall down and get injured. Or similar bad things would happen.
The actor would come off stage when the show was over and accuse their friends of putting a curse on them by saying "Good luck". They would be really mad at their friends for putting that curse on them with their kind words.
So, people started saying just the opposite. Rather than wishing them good luck and risk cursing them and making them fail, they wished them bad luck, by telling them to "Break a leg".
The reason was, because, when they said: Good luck, it often had the opposite affect. Then the performer was mad at them and said it was their fault.
People figured that by wishing them bad luck, that will hopefully have the opposite affect to. So, the performer will not blame them for causing them to fail.
This was a really long time ago when people started to do this. The tradition never died. People have been doing this ever since. Until now, almost nobody knew why!

What are some good things that we've gotten out of the Space Program:

Hubble has shown the world Trillions of things that are too far away to see with a regular, backyard telescope.
NASA invented Velcro and a ton of things we use everyday.
The International Space Station (ISS) brought several countries together to work on a very big, expensive, Scientific project. We have made a lot of Scientific discoveries in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, Astronomy and other branches of Science and Math on the ISS.
It's very expensive to launch a rocket into space. NASA has to spend over 1 Billion dollars every time they launch a rocket. That is money that goes to companies and people all over the US and the rest of the world. That's "trickle down economics".
NASA and other space agencies have proven from space that the world is not flat. Scientists can watch the weather from space. They can spot hurricanes, tornadoes, Tsunamis and other things long before they can harm anyone. They can see lightning hitting Earth. They have discovered that lightning actually strikes Earth between 50-100 times per second!
They have sent spacecraft's to every single planet. They learned that all the gas giants (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune have rings around them. The only one you can see with a regular telescope at home is Saturn's ring.
They've discovered signs of possible life on Mars and a few moons in the Solar system, but no proof yet.
They've put military satellites in space, as well as others for GPS, Astronomy, Geology, Google Earth, Weather, Earth's atmosphere, and other things.
They've sent signals to other planets, in hopes of aliens intercepting the signals a Million light years away. They are also listening for signals from aliens.
Metiors and other things are headed toward Earth. NASA wants to find a way to stop them from hitting us and preventing a mass extinction of humans. (That's what killed the dinosaurs.)
If we are no longer able to live on Earth, we must find somewhere else to go.
The government has set off nukes in space for Scientific and military purposes. (Maybe nukes can be used to save Earth from being hit with a Metior.)
A lot of new technology had to be invented to build rockets powerful enough to get humans to space and be able to survive up there. New, advanced technology had to be invented to communicate with Astronauts from the ground.
Voyages I and II are in interstellar space, going far away from Earth. They now know how big the Heliosphere is.
The temperature of space is close to Absolute Zero. Scientists have done experiments on the Space Station to get even closer to Absolute Zero than the temperature of space. They can get closer to that temp on the ISS than they can on Earth.
They have talked about sending regular civilians like you and me to space for vacation. I'd love to go up, but, it will be too expensive.
Scientists know the appropriate size and composition of all the planets.
Probes have been sent to Venus. They landed on the surface and they stopped working within a few hours. Probably because it's so hot that they all may have melted or the acid rain may have damaged them as well. Either way, NASA knows that they can never send humans up there.
Spy satellites have been sent up for military purposes over countries like Iraq. They also have some over the US for: Military, law enforcement and Science. (Who knows, the government of the US and other countries might be watching you right now!)
It is really a lot of fun to watch a rocket launch.
There's a lot of things that were built Thousands of years ago which nobody can figure out how to replicate them and build them the same way today, including the Great Pyramids. They probably had help from aliens.
Some of the Pyramids line up perfectly with Orion's belt.
This is only scratching the surface of all the good things that have come from the Space Program.

Why is Michigan called: The Wolverine State?

WHY IS MICHIGAN CALLED THE WOLVERINE STATE:

Wolverines are not native to the state of Michigan. Wolverines do, however, live in Canada, Alaska and other really cold places. But, not MI. The few that live in MI are either in a zoo, owned illegally by people as pets or escaped from peoples houses who had them as illegal pets, etc. The ones in MI and all other Northern states were either brought there by people or they walked over the Canadian boarder by themselves.
The real reason for the nickname comes from the: Toledo War between Michigan and Ohio in 1835.
The city of Toledo is in Ohio, but, it is right on the edge of Michigan.
In 1835, the government of Michigan said, "I don't think that city officially belongs to Ohio. We need to claim it as part of our state!"
Wolverines have a reputation for being extremely aggressive animals. They will often attack other animals that are just minding their own business and not trying to harm anything. The Wolverine will attack the other animal for seemingly no good reason at all.
The state of Ohio was just minding their own business and not posing a threat to anybody. One day, the government in Michigan told the state Militia to attack Ohio.
It was quite a surprise when the Michigan Militia invaded Toledo and said, "We, the people of Michigan are taking the city over! The city belongs to us now!"
In 1936, President Jackson put an end to the war. He decided that since Ohio was already a state and Michigan wasn't and since he wanted Ohio's electoral votes in the upcoming election, he would let Ohio keep the city. In exchange, Michigan became an official state. The state also was given about Two Thirds of the Upper Peninsula. It sounded like a bad deal at the time, because nobody wanted the Upper Peninsula. But, it has a lot of: Copper, Iron and Timber. So the state took advantage of that.
After the war, some people in Ohio said, "The state of Michigan has the mentally and temperament of a Wolverine! MI should be known as: The Wolverine State!"
The name Wolverine State stuck. Michigan has had that name ever since.
Eventually, The University of Michigan adopted the name: "Michigan Wolverines".
That's how MI got that name.

The origin of the expression: "Get your goat".

Don't let them get your goat!

Goats do keep horses calm.
The expression: Get your goat comes from Horse racing.
Years ago, people kept their horse in a stable before a race. To keep the horse calm, they put a goat in the stable with the horse. Now the horse could calm down and get some rest. Then the horse would be able to concentrate and have enough energy to run the race.
Sometimes, one of the competitors would not like one of the other people that was in the race or, maybe he thought one of the other horses was too fast and he didn't have a chance of winning against that horse.
So, the rider would try to give himself an unfair advantage. He waited till the day before the race, when nobody was looking, he'd go to that horses stable and steal that horses goat.
The next day, they got ready for the race and the owner of that horse noticed that his goat was missing.
Now the riders all brought their horses out to the track.
The one horse that was left to spend the whole day and night without a goat just wasn't ready for the race.
All the other horses were calm and well rested. Those horses were prepared to run really fast and concentrate on winning the race. However, the other horse acted like it had a severe case of ADHD.
The horse was too tired to run as fast as it possibly could, it may of been hyperactive and it couldn't concentrate very well on the race. That horse and rider were unable to win the race.
That left us with a very famous expression: "Don't let that other person 'GET YOUR GOAT'"!

TOM DULA (Pronounced: Dooly) The true story behind the song.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BtSzcKZGzDs&sns=fb

Tom Dula was a former Confederate soldier (1845-1868).
After the war, Tom resumed a relationship with Ann Foster. He eventually slept with Ann's sister Laura Foster. She became pregnant. Tom and Laura decided to elope.
Laura left home one morning on her dad's horse intending to run away and marry Tom and she was never seen alive again.
Laura's body was eventually found in a shallow grave in the woods. She had been stabbed in the chest.
Tom claimed he was innocent, However, he was convicted of her murder and hanged.
Somebody eventually wrote a song about the murder of Laura and execution of Tom. Nobody knows who originally wrote the song, however, in 1958, a band called: The Kingston Trio recorded the song and it became one of their most famous songs.
Until recently, I never knew that the song was based on a true story or even that Tom Dula was a real person. I always thought it was just an old song.
